Spring Fever

So, It's been a while. Here in Vermont, I've been happily counting the days where the thermometer climbs above 60. We still have to run the wood stove most evenings, but the sun certainly does feel good on my toes. Is it true that spring is here?

It's been a busy month here in the studio. I have been working on your flower girls dresses, tunics, and the women's summer line. Here's a quick snapshot and a bit of a preview. I should have more up by the end of next week, so stay tuned......

Back to the Office

Well, here it is, Monday morning - back to work after an extended vacation - nothing exotic, just school vacation week and a lovely trip to the Boston Aquarium, but here I am, back to work. I've moved my studio back to the house, so yes, I am writing this in my slippers, and I LOVE it! Of course it's easier to get distracted, but now it's over to the machine to complete a few women's tunics and a linen dress order that has been waiting, so here goes.

I just wanted to let you know that I've just finished a longer version of my women's linen tunic - it's more of a dress, so I promise to post it sometime today. I'd love feedback - let me know what you think. Cheers, and happy monday!

Wishing for Spring Cleaning SALE!

In an attempt to wish the warm weather here a little bit sooner, I've been cleaning, organizing, and all around overhauling my studio. What this means for me is a glimmer of hope in the midst of the freeze - I always LOVE rearranging and organizing (just ask my husband). What it means for you is that some of this stuff has to go, so it's going on SALE. The selection is random, but most of the items on sale are at least 50% off, so if there is something you've been coveting, go ahead, make my day.

Just added to the Shop!

Beautiful, versatile hand knit sweaters brought to you by BirdieHandmade - knit by my very talented mother in law! Each one is made from an assortment of wools and is totally one of a kind. These beautiful sweaters begin by fitting your little munchkin as a tunic or dress around age 2, and then continue to grow into a vest fitting right up through age 5 or 6. (See the same sweater on both my 2 year old model and my 6 year old model.) This is the sweater that complete strangers will stop you and ask you where it came from. Believe me, it's happened every time we've worn ours out of the house. Very limited quantities, and I can't promise that I'll have others, so snap one up while you can!

My Assistant

So, today at the studio, we were working on a little photo shoot of the first of the women's dresses, which of course turned into a mommy and me photo shoot with my little supermodel. I haven't quite gotten all of the photos for the women's dresses edited down yet, but here are a few of the out takes featuring my one and only assistant - Ms. Sunshine.

Working for yourself can be one of the most rewarding, and the most challenging gigs out there. I am blessed to be able to have my little bean with me while I work. Of course that sometimes means that I get a little less done, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
